We have a distinguished history in the exporting of potatoes. In cooperation with the United States Potato Board and the National Potato Council we were instrumental in opening the Asian market to US potatoes. In 1997 Cal-Ore Seed launched into the global market by shipping several containers of seed potatoes overseas to Pakistan. In 1998 we shipped a container of washed chipstock potatoes to Taiwan; making it the first overseas shipment of this type in the industry.

Another first in the industry for Cal-Ore Seed occurred when we gained global proprietary rights to the Sierra Gold® potato in 2001. This is a specialty variety that Rob Campbell, then General Manager, discovered in conjunction with breeders at Texas A&M University. Cal-Ore Seed now co-owns a marketing company, Discovery Garden’s, which allows us to produce and distribute several branded potato varieties.

The Campbell and Leo families purchased Cal-Ore Seed in 2009. With this acquisition, we broadened the company's scope to include hay and cattle. Rob Campbell serves as President, son Mark Campbell is Vice President, and daughter Amanda Leo is Controller.
